Materials Needed:

You will need the following to complete this project:

  • 2 Fat Quarters for Wreaths (Green)
  • 1 Fat Eighth for Bows (Red)
  • 1 Fat Eighth for Accent (Blue in this version)
  • 3/4 yard Background
  • 3/8 yard Binding
  • 7/8 yard Backing
  • Boughs of Holly Table Runner Pattern # BNB2518

Paper and PDF patterns are available in our shop at Sew Lux Fabric or ask your local quilt shop to carry the paper pattern and kit one up for you!

The original version of this project was made using Merrily on High by Sweetfire Road, which is shipping this month. For this remix, we're showing you how it looks in When Snow Falls by Deb Strain, which is shipping to shops this month. Check out the other mock ups I have to share at the end of this post, too.

This runner finishes at 13.5” x 52.5” and easily fits on most dining room tables or console tables. You could easily shorten it or make it longer it by removing or adding blocks.

This runner is made with one wreath block, which gets rotated. While it is easy to piece, you do need to pay attention while sewing the units as their orientation is important.

One tip I wanted to share is when I am trimming a lot of snowball, or stitch-and-flip corners, I will line them all up along a mark on my cutting mat and trim them at the same time.

Once you get all of your units made, you’ll sew them together into the wreath blocks.

I quilted this one with a Edge-to-Edge pantograph called Christmas Poinsettia.

I have included a couple of mock ups in other new collections arriving in shops soon from Moda: Chilly by Sweetwater, Merrily on High by Sweefire Road, and When Snow Falls by Deb Strain.

If your local shop is carrying one of these collections, ask them to kit one up for you or help you select prints from another collection that catches your eye!

Next month, we will be transitioning back to sewing pouches. I hope you’ll join the fun! Here’s what we will be making over the second half of 2026, starting with the Swivel Pouch in July. I'll see you back here on July 16th!
