Materials Needed: 

You will need the following to complete this project: 

• 1 Layer Cake or 12 Fat Eighths
• 3/8 yard Binding
• 1 yard Backing
• Benny Table Runner Pattern # BNB2521

Paper and PDF patterns are available in our shop at Sew Lux Fabric or ask your local quilt shop to carry the paper pattern and kit one up for you! 

The original version of this project was made using True Love by Lella Boutique. For this remix, we're showing you how it looks in Purrs & Boos by Elena Amo, which is shipping to shops now. Check out the other mock ups I have to share at the end of this post, too. 

This runner is beginner friendly and a Layer Cake gives you a scrappy look with ease. Of course, you can use large scraps as well to personalize it to your space or recipient.

This runner utilizes two checkerboard-style blocks and sets them in an alternating fashion. Choose prints that have good contrast for each block. If you’re using directional fabric, like the text print for example, make note of the orientation of your pieces as you assemble the blocks.

Once you get all of your units made, you’ll sew them into rows as instructed in the pattern.

This runner finishes at 12.5” x 54.5” and easily fits on most dining room tables or console tables. You could easily shorten it or make it wider by removing or adding blocks.

I quilted this one with a Edge-to-Edge pantograph called Spindle to with the Halloween theme of the Purrs & Boos collection.

I have included a couple of mock ups in other new collections arriving in shops soon from Moda: Gingerbread Lane by Kiley’s Quilt Room and True Love by Lella Boutique.
