From Fabric 1 (petal), cut:
{A} (2) 2½” x 5” rectangles
From Fabric 2 (petal), cut:
{A} (1) 2½” x 5” rectangles
From Fabric 3 (center), cut:
{B} (1) 2” x 4½” rectangle
From Background Fabric, cut:
{C} (10) 1” squares
{D} (2) 1½” x 2” rectangles
12” BLOCK
From Fabric 1 (petal), cut:
{A} (2) 4½” x 9½” rectangles
From Fabric 2 (petal), cut:
{A} (1) 4½” x 9½” rectangles
From Fabric 3 (center), cut:
{B} (1) 3½” x 8½” rectangle
From Background Fabric, cut:
{C} (10) 2” squares
{D} (2) 2½” x 3½” rectangles
STEP 1. MAKE PETALS
On the wrong side of background squares, draw a diagonal line from corner to corner. Layer atop one corner of a petal rectangle, right sides together and raw edges aligned as shown.
Stitch the pair together on the drawn line. Trim seam allowance to ¼”. Press. Repeat on corners as shown.
Join petal units together.
STEP 2. MAKE CENTER
Repeat the method outlined in Step 1 to add easy corner triangles to the yellow center. Press. Add background rectangles to each side.
STEP 3. ASSEMBLE BLOCK
Join block components as shown. Press well.
