Here are the links to the posts of the original QAL that you will need for Week 4-

Round 5- Path A- Orange Beach

Round 5- Path B- Shoreview

Cornerstone Option A- Dresden Hollow

Cornerstone Option B- Counselors Cabin

Border 5 + 6

I am making the Shoreview.  I am not adding in the cornerstones so we are making a total of 48 Shoreview blocks.  In this quilt, Round 5 is the most challenging for me.  It's the biggest, has the most blocks, and SO many half square triangles.  Each time I've made this quilt, I really need to push myself to finish this round somewhat quickly.  I know, for myself, if I let it sit too long, I'll lose motivation, it won't get done, and will end up in my WIP pile.

There was a period of time when I dreaded trimming half square triangles.  But, finally, I realized that I can either just set aside time and trim or not make quilts with half square triangles (HSTs).  I wasn't willing to do the second option so HSTs and I have come to an understanding, LOL.  I don't dread them anymore.  I set aside time to trim and I just do it and that's that.  The only way to get them done is to get them done!  So, onto this week...

If you'd like to make the exact quilt that I am making, I have a detailed schedule with all of the steps broken down for this week to make Shoreview-

Tuesday- Cut out the pieces needed for 48 Shoreview blocks.

Wednesday- Sew the 2 at a time HSTs.  Cut them apart.  Press each HST.

Thursday- Trim 96 HST.

Friday- Trim 96 HST.

Saturday- Assemble 48 Shoreview blocks.

Sunday- Assemble 2 strips of 11 Shoreview blocks and 2 strips of 13 Shoreview blocks.

Monday- Sew the Shoreview block strips onto the medallion.  Add Border 5 and 6

Feel free to follow your own schedule, group days together and work on more each day if you have longer periods of time, or adapt this any schedule to fit your needs.  I find when I give myself specific tasks each day for a quilt (or quilts), I get more finished quicker because I know exactly what I want to work on and I can just get right to it.

Your medallion after Border 6 should measure 72" x 72".

I'll check in next Tuesday with one more post to show my finished quilt!  I hope you have had a wonderful sew along so far and good luck on Week 5!
