What’s the recipe for a great quilt story? Start with an antique quilt dealer, an estate sale in New York City, and a mid-19th century quilt; season with historical prints in bright colors like cheddar and buttery yellows, turkey reds, Prussian blue, and poison greens; mix in some quirky appliqué blocks; and garnish with a bit of…Cher?! True story! Inspired by this remarkable quilt, Betsy Chutchian recreated its vibrant prints for her Sally’s Stitches collection. From delicate florals and meandering calicos, to crisp checks and bold clovers, these reproduction fabrics bring history alive with surprising freshness and timeless appeal.
The Turn Back Time Sampler Quilt
