Hello fellow quilters!  I'm Emily Bailey of Aunt Em's Quilts and I'm excited to be back baking for Moda.  This fun, easy quilt reminds me of the cross country train ride I took with my middle son, Josh.  The casual pace of this kind of travel makes it very enjoyable.  Taking time to meet your fellow travelers as we took in the beautiful scenery was delightful.  I chose April Rosenthal's Orchard for this quilt to represent the farmland we passed as we traveled.

This quilt finishes at 51" x 66". 2- Charm Packs® {Orchard by April Rosenthal} 2 1/8 yards background fabric {24076-11} 5/8 yards sashing fabric {24070-12} 4 yards backing fabric {24074-13} 1/2 yards binding fabric {24076-17}   Cut your charm squares in half so you have 2- 2 1/2" x 5" rectangles From background fabric cut 20- 2 1/2" x width of fabric strips From sashing fabric cut 7-1 1/2" x width of fabric strips Sew your background strips end to end and sub-cut into 14- 46 1/2" x 2 1/2" strips and 2- 66 1/2" x 2 1/2" strips Sew your sashing strips end to end and sub-cut into 6- 46 1/2" x 1 1/2" strips Sew a sashing strip between two background strips   Make six sets of these Sew the 2 1/2" x 5" charm rectangles into sets of 23 Make 7 of these Starting and ending with charm strips alternate with sashing strips Sew the remaining 46 1/2" X 2 1/2" background strips to the top and bottom of your quilt Sew the 66 1/2" x 2 1/2" strips to the sides of your quilt.   This quilt finishes at 51" x 66". If you make it make sure to share it with me.  I'd love to see how you made it your own.  Tag me on Instagram.     I'd also appreciate if you took time to stop by my blog or website to say hi.
