For more info about this quilt-along, check out the Frequently Asked Questions and join our Moda Bake Shop Bakers group. Find all the blocks {here}.

One of our favorite times of the year at the Moda Bake Shop is right around the corner! Each year we spend the month of December sharing and making a new quilt block each day leading up to December 25. It's a fun little treat to enjoy each day during the holiday season!

Some info for our 2020 Countdown to Christmas:

  • Our 2020 theme is Winter Frost. Look for blocks that evoke snow, winter, and hygge (the Norwegian word for cozy!)
  • Blocks will range in size from 4" to 18" - most blocks will be offered with 2 size options.
  • Fabric requirements include 14 fat quarters, 3 yards of a background fabric, and 1 yard of accent fabric. If you have a favorite print that you'd like to highlght, be sure to get half a yard so you can sprinkle a bit in each block.
  • The Countdown begins on December 1. We will post daily through December 25 with a bonus block on December 26.
  • We are using a palette of frosty hues this year. Here is the list of basics we will use in our blocks:
    • Background:  30150-101 - Grunge WHITE PAPER
    • 30150-406 - Grunge CLEAR WATER
    • 1660-34 - Spotted BLUEBELL
    • 30149-26 - Grunge Hits The Spot SKY
    • 48626-93 - Thatched SKY
