I am sad today, while many of you should be jumping for joy.

Today is the last block in Moda’s Blockhead4 series, and there is no better way to end it than the uber-talented Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree and Co. Joanna is the queen of sampler quilts, having created many blocks of the months over the years.

Here is the inspiration from Joanna for her block and quilt......

 When I think of samplers, I always try to envision a color scheme and "feel" first, and then I choose all the different blocks I would like to add.

With a program like BLOCKHEADS, where I don't know what others will be submitting, it is essential for me that I am sure my color palette and the block is almost secondary. Since I knew I wanted to work with a limited color palette of red and green, I wanted my block to be straightforward but still feel festive and classic. So BLOSSOM was born. I love what it adds to the overall group but could also envision it as a complete Spring feeling sampler! -Joanna
