Do you know Betsy Chutchian?  She's a quilter, fabric designer, historian, author and natural story-teller.  She's also one of the original Block Heads. 

Her block is Crown And Star.  The pattern has instructions for 3 sizes - 6", 8" and 12".  (But Betsy might have worked out how to make the block at 4" finished.)
