Bucket List No. 11

Bucket List No. 11

Are you checking things off your list?

Our friends at American Patchwork & Quilting have been working on their list, and they've worked on five tasks.

No. 7. Sew accurately using foundation piecing. If using Cake Mixes counts as foundation piecing, then I can cross this one off my list too.

But I will still try to get an actual paper-pieced block made this year.

No. 20. Take a picture or journal about each quilt made this year. Yes and no. I finished a quilt but it's in a book so I can't share it yet. But if pincushions count, then I've shared my to-date 2019 finishes.

I shared these pinnies on Instagram in January and February - individually and as a group.

No. 21. Assemble a pincushion. Ding ding ding. I might have made a few in 2019.

See above.

No. 38. Add a little - or a lot - of applique to a project. Project? Do labels added as embellishment count? If so, see pincushions above - check!

Okay, so it was just a little.

No. 46. Take part in a block exchange or swap fabric with a friend. I'll have to work on this one.

But I've checked two other tasks off my list!

No. 11. Take a quilting class in person or online. I took a Zipper Bag Boot Camp "class" at a local quilt shop a few weeks ago. I learned a lot and had a great time with a terrific teacher and an energetic, funny and inspiring group of ladies. And I learned a lot!

While I had done many of the zipper techniques before, I learned so many terrific little tips that I was quickly getting better results. In the weeks since class, I've made three bags and cut out at least four more. These bags were made with the Boro Wovens - they're in shops now.

No. 15. Join a fun quilt-along. I've joined two! The Moda String-along and Moda Love!

Moda Love. My block - and project - might be a tiny bit smaller than what's in the pattern. These squares and HTSs finish at 1/2". I'll share pictures of my string-along blocks soon.

So I've crossed off six tasks on my Quilting Bucket List.

How about you?

If you missed anything about American Patchwork & Quilting's Bucket List for 2019, we can help.

Happy Friday!
